    Caprica

Not sure if it was mentioned anywhere else but I just read that the pilot for Caprica is due out on DVD today?
    Anybody know for sure?
    Has anybody seen it yet?
I know the show is not scheduled to hit the airwaves until 2010.
It's the first time I've ever heard of anything like this being done before.

Maybe they are trying to determine interest, possibly to cancel the series before it starts?

I'm not really interested, and I was a huge BSG fan.

The DVD packaging would never have you thinking it was a science fiction series other than the words "Battlestar Galactica". I don't know anyone who is interested in this to be honest.

I can't remember the exact details, but I seem to recall Babylon 5 doing a series of made for TV cable movies (on TNT? after UPN collapsed) that kind of paved the way for the short lived Crusade spinoff. I believe DVD sales factored into the decisions.

I didn't really bother watching that last one. Is it worth seeing? There was also a pilot movie a few years after Crusade about The Rangers, but I thought it was pretty bad, even with G'kar in it.

                    Solid!

But,I read this is going to be about the rise and rebellion of the cylons.
                    Yes/No???

If that's the case then this has potential to be very cool.
I'm thinking cool like the razor flashbacks of a young adama.
Alas I don't think the time line is accurate for the first/second cylon war though.

                      It comes down to money
They think they can make more money selling the DVD before its on TV insted of after. (worked for the SG1 movies)

Looks interesting, but seeing it's not on blu-ray I'll wait till they show it on tv.

If it turns out to be a soap opera without all the cool stuff, I'm out. But if it is the rise of the Cylons and the first war, I'll stick around for awhile.

I really hated how they wrapped-up BSG. It was dragging for a bit, then rushed, then over. The idea that the survivors scattered and mated with the aborigines was a total cop-out. In two generations all of civilization was reduced to a DNA contribution in the new Earth gene pool. There were so many other options.

                          >Kill the spaceships and robots,

There's at least one robot that looks kinda like a Terminator endoskeleton with an old Cylon head.

Just watched it.Pretty good stuff so far a little bit adult orientated in the beginning so be careful if you watch it with your kids.

                            Has definite potential.

I am interested in watcing it. I will not buy it without having seen it though

the B5 movies that was put direct to DVD came out like 2 years ago, it was called Lost Tales. It was alright, not great. Special effects were sub par. It did leave off for a new story arc though
