Anyone read Richard hatch's Battlestar Books?

I think this is what the new show should have been like

20 years in the future, no Galactica 80, Starbuck and Athena have a daughter that's an Ensign course she's dating Boxey whos'e an LT. I think there's 4 books done, all worth reading

I read them and thought the ideas behind them were good, but the stories themselves were a bit disjointed. The addition of Apollo being sort of Jedi-like bothered me, too. Especially all of the talk about being of "true blood" made me a little uncomfortable.
      It's all good!

I read his first one when I saw the cast at the 20th Yarhen Celebration in LA back in '98. It was a good read, but I haven't gotten through any of the others yet. The re-emergence of Count Iblis was interesting, but I was hoping for some newer characters..

I read the first two, but lost interest after that. Especially with the subplot about Cassie having Apollo's baby, when it was more than likely Iblis'.

          Ick!

It came off as a bit Harry Potter-ish, with all of the malarkey about "true Kobollian blood", but it wasn't too bad.

The second book, which I only read once, doesn't really stand out in my mind that much, but I don't think I cared for it.

Richard is a good writer, but he should have tightened up the plot in certain places, brought in some new characters, and clarified a few more things.

There's fanfiction on the net that is actually better than the books. I suggest looking some of them up.
