Yeah, I used to watch it all the time. I think it was a syndicated show rather than network?
The only thing I hated about that show (and others like it) was they NEVER resolved/proved anything!!
    It was all speculation.
Highly entertainling and thought-provoking though even if there never was a payoff.

I remember that. Used to scare the crap out of me as a kid.
Last weekend I was looking thru the free stuff on On-demand and saw that they have made some new ones, they all sucked tho and only run about 10-15 minutes apiece.
The one about the Burmuda Triangle always stuck with me for some reason.

Anything Bigfoot or aliens (I guess that would include the Triangle in some reports) scared the crap outta me, too.
I couldn't watch shows like that alone, especially at night. I believe it had spooky theme music, too?

I loved that show! And Leonard Nimoy's voice was so AWESOME!!! If they sold it on DVDs I would buy it in an instant.

The only problem with old shows like this is they have 30+ year old information. So many things/theories/etc have happened since then. They are way out of date.
It'd be like watching a documentary from the 50's on dinosaurs when they thought they were all cold-blooded reptiles and dragged their tails on the ground.
              Entertaining? yes. Accurate? no.

Well How accurate can some of this stuff really be? I am into stuff like this and own tons of books on UFOS, Bigfoot you name it. But until someone produces an Alien or catches Bigfoot itsnt it all speculation?
Besides back then the shows had a creepier feel to them . They dont make them like that anymore.

I used to watch this with my dad. In fact, I first encountered Nimoy here, not on Trek. When I first saw Spock I thought "Why does the "In Search Of" guy have pointy ears and a weird hair cut?"

It scared the beejeezus out of me too. Even the themesong was errie, although now I think it sounds a lot like the synthesizer solo in Steve Miller's "Swingtown"!

A&E or some similar channel reaired it with new openings a few years back. The new intro didn't fit and killed the mood.

I remember that earth 2 chris.
It ran some back in the 90s on TNT when they would do Monster Fest. I think the sci-fi channel ran it back in the 90s here and there as well.
Reminds me of when the Sci Fi channel was cool and didnt run horrid CGI flicks with out of work porn chicks acting in them.

In Search Of...was a great show. I even liked the non-supernatural stuff like Amelia Earhart.
But I'm betting you will never see it on the "NEW" channel:

I remember watching the show on KPTV ch 12 out of Portland OR on the early days of cable. I like KPTV back it was an independent TV station. I seem to remember, In search of, was on back in the late 70's early 80's.
