      Thats great man,i can remember seeing this on tv at the time and thinking how lucky the kid was.

          He truly did, when I was fifteen and at my first con, he wandered into the show suite sat down next to me and said "what are we watching?"

          The only downside to having Jon Pertwee as your first celebrity encounter was it became a standard in which few others have ever measured up to.

            That must have been amazing.

            I met Jon in 81 or 82 he was the nicest guy, same thing it wasn't a formal signing line he was mingling with the crowd posing for photos with kids (like me in my psuedo UNIT uniform). he slways showed up "in costume" for Dr who conventions. Wish I still had my copy of Moon boots and Dinner suits

              Jon Pertwee was the only Dr. Who I really saw as a kid.

                    He is the only Doctor that I remember and think of when asked about Doctor who....As Awesome as he was , how about the smile on that kids face!!! And He (Jon) was all about making it a great experience for him......

                        Sadly, I never got the chance to meet him.

                        From everything I've heard, he was a great human being to be around.

                        I loved him as the Doctor, even though Tom Baker was the one that I fell in love with first, (I was fourteen at the time, I can be forgiven).

                        I liked his chemistry with Elisabeth Sladen better than Tom's.
