Spock Is Cast!!!????

I feel like the one little kid who's the only one that see the emperor dosen't have any cloths on.
O.K., if I remember right from the last casting thread, basiclly the two big things Brody has going for him are the following:
1. He's a great actor: Liam Nieson and Denzel Washington are great actors but I wouldn't want either of them to play Spock. Let me put it another way - Eric Bana, Jennifer Connley and Sam Shepherd are great actors and Ang Lee is a great director. Talent only takes you so far.
2. He's got the look/Brody and Nimoy both have screwed up noses: Nimoy did NOT have a screwed up nose. Slightly large, a bit on the odd side perhaps. But I don't think I've heard anyone ever suggest that Nimoy get a nose job. Yeah, his nose is a little skrewed-looking now, but the guys what in his 70's? That's what old age does man. Really, in my opinoin (and I hate to be cruel) but Brody's whole face is kinda funky. Nimoy was no Cary Grant but he wasn't Brody homely-as-fence-post either. When Chapel or some other babe got the hots for Spock I could buy it. Naomi Watts making out with Brody in Kong? Sorry, I didn't buy it.
I mean come one, if having a big or screwed up nose is going to be that big of a qualifier why not have David Schwimmer play Spock?
To me, in that photoshoped picture, Sinise looked great, Damon passable and Brody looks like he just walked off and SNL skit.
Look, I'll freely admit I'm in the minority on this. People magazine named Brody one of their 100 most beautiful people (if that's true I should have lucious babes hanging all over me). And I guess pretty much everyone on the internet was thrilled with the prospect of Brody.
So it's just me I guess, I don't get it. -
Definate Confirmation...and approval from Nimoy, who's read the Script!

I've been pleasantly astounded enough by LOST that I have faith in JJ Abrams to accomplish anything with Star Trek - even a prospect as difficult as recasting Kirk & Spock.
If the Quinto casting turns out to be true, I do believe that's a step in exactly the right direction.Leave a comment:

That's the Spirt Dana...keep an open Mind!
With any luck...J.J. will pull it off...and We'll have many more Star Trek:TOS Adventure's to come!

I don't know much about the actor (and I haven't seen Heroes), but he has a Spock-like look to him (even without makeup)...
In the end, Spock, Kirk, Bones, etc...Are just characters, like Romeo and Juliet, Zoro, Hercules, Oliver Twist, Dracula, etc, etc...They are a part of our culture and the original actors will always be the ones who helped create who these characters are/were. There's always room for reinterpretation...There's no guarantee that it'll be good, though. That's all up to the writers, actors, directors who do the reinterpreting...And it's up to the audience too, depending on how open they are to change.
Hopefully it will be a good Star Trek endeavor...Trek has been limping for a while now (IMHO).

Based on that pic I can see him pull it off, but I'd have to see him in full Spock make up tho to be sureLeave a comment:

I don't know, if this who they've cast for Spock it looks like they're skewing pretty young. Damon might be too old for this crowd. Sadly, that probably means Sinise is out of the running for McCoy.
As for this Silar guy, his picture dosen't really impress me, but I've never seen the show so I'll reserve judgement. All I can say is thank God it's not Adrian Brody. I have no idea why everyone was getting so geeked out over that prospect.
You might be right about Them casting Younger...which would put Damon out. Sadly...I thought Sinise would be great as well. But what's wrong with Brody...He's got the look, and He's a good Actor(except he's a little skinny).Leave a comment:

I'm also 99% certain...that Captain Kirk Role is Matt Damon's, if He wants it. And from coment's I've read from Him...I think He does...and I'm cool with that! Great casting!

I agree with your estimation and for the reasons stated, Hulk. Nothing more for me to add.I like the idea of this guy in the role. He played Silar great, and can go from calm, cool and collected, to a simmering pot of pent up emotions with small changes in facial expressions. Very Spocklike if you ask me, and you might assume that Spock hasn't mastered controlling his human half earlier in his career (as if he ever really did).Leave a comment:

I just spewed coke on my keyboard. Have you been talking to Bill Shatner again?

I have no idea who that is, but he kind of looks "alien" in that pic.
