I'm kind of guessing at least Frakes will make an appearence.

The guy has been Star Trek's ambassador for 20 years now.

If he doesn't appear, it will be a huge let down.

This has been cleared up over at Trekmovie. The writer misspoke, and a Latin Trek reporter went nuts and "spread the word". Besides Nimoy, nobody else from Trek past is in the film....again, according to Trekmovie.

I like Frakes...but his presence will not make sense since Riker has not been born yet during Kirk's young days.

Maybe with all this stuff about "time travel" and "alternate realities"
...maybe he will find his way in? Just a thought.

Data's daddy would have been around then, so Spiner could appear. And yeah there could be a time travel issue since its old spock from the Next Gen era appearing.
