The New Avengers

I wasn't sure where to stick this one. I'm sure someone will point out the right spot soon enough.
I've just been watching the second season of the New Avengers on DVD.
I have a strange affection for this show that dates to my childhood.
I guess some of it was produced in Canada, so it got re-run now and then on weekend afternoons. It was a mainstay along with Starlost and some others.
I loved the theme song, and never missed it, if just to hear the theme.
I'd have to place it in the box marked guilty pleasures, but it has plenty of company.
Did anybody else see this show? How about you Brits?

I remember watching this "late night" back in the 80s I think on CBS...Purdey was no Emma Peel but I still thought she was hot back then.

I too always liked this series. As memory serves, it was a Canada/UK/France co production so a certain number of episodes had to be made in each country...or something like that. I also agree, the theme song was fantastic...even better than the original series theme.

I like the original Avengers just fine, but may be one of the few who liked the new show better. Maybe because it was part of my childhood, or maybe because I thought Purdy was hot. Sadly, few agreed with me, and the show met an early demise.
