He was even better in Secret Agent. basically #6 is the same character as John Drake they just never name him as such.

I was always a fan of his. his appearances on Colombo are classics

I never watched either show but he was great as Longshanks in Braveheart. What an evil ******* that guy was.
They are doing a re-imagining of the Prisoner now, i think on AMC. should be interesting and I will definately be checking it out

I remember him at the Phantom's ghost father in the Phantom Movie some years back.

This is sad news but he left us a lot of great television to watch.

'I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered!
My life is my own!' The Prisoner speaking to the first Number Two in the
episode "Arrival". I've always loved that expression of freedom.

McGoohan had such a great speaking voice I'm surprised he didn't do a lot
                    of voice over work.

                    Rest In Peace.

Goodbye but not farewell to John Drake, Number Six, Dr. Syn and Mr. Jones
                    amongst others.

What I read he was a perfectionist, and had to have created control over any project he was in.
IE the movie Silver Streak, or EX producers on the his good friend peter falk
Colombo which he won a emmey. and he was not afriad to mix it up with the stunt men if he felt it was not going right.
He was offered the part of the Saint but turned it down because the character was a drinker and womenizer.
