Trek '09 Communicators

Is it just me, or do these actually resemble Mego's ST communicator more than the actual TOS communicator:

I hate the idea they're putting the Enterprise insignia on everything.

In the Classic Series that insignia used to mean USS Enterprise -- not Star Fleet.

Me too. I liked the idea that each ship/starbase had their own insignia Seems more realistic to me. Also, I just noticed this on the picture of the older starship that the serial number is 4 digits starting with a zero. Should one think that it should be 3 digits until they get to 1000? That's really nit-picky, I know.

The new communicator has some of the Star Trek II feel to it. If I recall that had a solid cover with a squared off look with silver on it.
