I would think a "real" fan would feel the same way that I felt when I saw
Anakin introduce himself by name to Obi Wan in the PM preview.

I'm not going to into the divided response about the new SW trilogy
          because that's not the point....

I was as big a SW fan as most Trek fans here....and when I
saw that bit in the previews, I got a big smile.

You have to be real jaded (in my opinion) to be turned of by the
"i'm captain james tiberius kirk" line IF you're a huge Trek fan.

I'm going to give it a look see. Really glad this spells the end of STTNG sequels.

^As much as I loved the TNG, I was pretty sure after NEMESIS that the
                well had run dry.

This NEW movie on the other hand----well, I always DID prefer
Kirk and his crew on the big screen---so I may be very much into it.

Too soon to tell either way. I am simply hopefull at this point that I will not see anything like "Sybok", "B4", or the "Xynti". Zoe Saldana in a microskirt doesn't hurt, but that is one man's opinion.

I've got a feeling the movie will rule and prove a lot of the naysayers wrong. It looks like a lot more fun than the BS ST:TNG movies.
