Planet of the Apes on AMC

CORRECTION: Fox Movie Channel not AMC

    Anyone else watching the marathon?

Between movies they are showing clips of the "cosplay" Ape players doing funny stuff on the FOX backlot... but best of all:

Mego mention galore at one point, including the playing of a commercial.

Yeah, the marathon is awesome!!! And the funny stuff in between the movies is great!

Marty and Ken Abrams did interviews talking all about MEGO and they have been showing figures along with other toys like the ADDAR sets and all that. And the commericals! on TV? It's been years!!! This is so APE-in AWesome!

Some of us have to work. Besides I don't get that channel anyway.

Speaking of AMC...I haven't been able to watch that channel since they got rid of the hosts and started showing commercials. Not to mention the liberal use of the word "CLASSIC" in the movies they show now!

So frustrating. I don't get the Fox channel as part of my cable package. Guess I'll have to make my own ape marathon.

Did you watch Conquest and Battle?

I hope Ape fans caught the FMC broadcasts of "Conquest of the Planet of the Apes" and "Battle for the Planet of the Apes" as FMC showed the Blu Ray disc versions of the movies.

There were many extended scenes in "Conquest" and it was more violent than the normal "G" rated version. In fact the tv broadcast was rated as "V". Lots more blood, gunplay, and fighting. The gorillas took all the dead humans and stacked their bodies in piles in front of Ape Management. Cut from the Blu Ray version is the scene where Lisa tells Caesar "No" and his speech asking the apes to put down their weapons. Added is the gorillas violently killing Governor Breck.

"Battle" was much different from the standard movie version. Added were scenes between Governor Kulp and his aide planning to use the Alpha-Omega bomb against Ape City should Kulp's attack fail. Also added was a scene with Mendez preventing Kulp's aide use of the bomb. A great added scene was at the end when General Aldo and his gorillas attack Kulp on the school bus. The scene is much longer than normal and after all the escaping humans are killed, Aldo gets on top of the bus and struts around while the gorillas chant his name.
