I don't know why we should be afraid of spoilers...we know what happened to Pike...and the rest of the crew survives just fine.

Reviews like this are interesting 'cos they say as much about the reviewer as the reviewed. He's pretty even-handed, but there's one thing that seems really odd to me:

....uh.... Talk about retconning the original out of things.... Sure it was 60's rock music and hot chicks (y'know.... being the 60's and all....) but it seems to me that these were both major selling points of the original.
At least for me. Well, at least ONE of those things.
