What did you think of DW THE ANDROID INVASION ?

I never seen Doctor Who's The Android Invasion until last night -- thanks to a good buddy.

I kept hearing and reading how bad it was.

After watching it, I can honestly say I liked it.
It wasn't great and it did have a ton of plot-holes, but most importantly -- it was FUN.

Man, that robot face falling off routine really got around a lot in the 70's

    1-10 scale (1-lousy)
I'd give it a 7... just because it was fun to watch.

It's been a while since I've seen it, but it was right smack in the best of the early gothic years of Baker and Sladen. Nice pacing and good suspense, it fares nicely along side the Zygons, Seeds of Doom, and Mandragora stories. I thought it was a solid effort.

Incidentally, I just got another 'Key to Time' DVD in for $8 this morning, 'Pirate Planet' by Douglas Adams.. It was more the "Tom Baker Show" than Doctor Who in that year. Light-hearted but fun. And Mary Tamm!

Just check out Amazon's current list of used DW DVDs... That's $8.09 WITH shipping. I'm going to try and scarf up the rest of the early Baker eps (pre-Lalla Ward) over the next few weeks.

It is one of my absolute favorite episodes. Only way it could have been better for me is if the Brig had been able to appear. Benton's last appearance in who a moment of silence please
