They should subtitle some of these sub-forums:
"For Mego Collectors, Sci-Fi Fantasy Fans and Clairvoyants""No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris MannixComment

Remaking Apes from the Conquest level is kind of smart IMO, it's an interesting point to work in and gets rid of all the benchmarks the first film has that the film maker has to address (such as surprise endings, homages etc)
I for one, like the genetic super monkey idea. It will never replace the original Conquest in my heart (I looooooooove Conquest) but if it keeps the populace and a new generation aware of the apes then bring it on.Places to find PlaidStallions online: https://linktr.ee/Plaidstallions

Burton's "mistake" was trying to remain faithful to the original novel, while for most people the movies were so iconic, that they became the standard.
So anyone making new POTA, should really stick close to the movies.
I'm curious to see what they make of it..

Actually one of Tim Burtons biggest mistakes in that movie is as follows.
Surprise.. We find that the apes and humans were actually desendents of the original crew of the Oberon when they entered the space rift to rescue our favorite Astronaut. So my question ....The million dollar question Where did the horses come from? This is NOT earth. there is a scene with TWO moons on the horizon. There are also jungle trees bigger then redwoods. Also the land masses seen when he crashes are "un earthlike" (As opposed to the Dumb A#s ending where you can obviously see North America... So how did Thade and the apes get from the Ape planet to Earth?) But I degress.
Some small lab animals I can see. The apes presense on board was explained. But do you really have the room to keep a breeding population of horses on a intergalactic exploration vessel? What do you do exersise them down the main corridor? Run them on a tread mill? Does poor unlucky ******* have to shovel all that Sh#t.
Come on Tim we are not stupid here................ Man I got way to much time on my hands tonight.Last edited by Seeker; Nov 5, '08, 8:55 PM.Lo there do I see my Father.

On a slight tangent but relative to Seeker's remarks:
The one thing that bothered me on the TV series and still bothers me to this day happens in the very first scene in the very first episode.
The WHOLE premise behind the apes becoming intelligent basically hinged on the humans adopting apes as pets and then slaves/servants after all the dogs and cats died.
So what is shown in that first scene???
A DOG!!!!
They never explained that glaring error.
Bugs the crap outta me.
