Who wins this battle and why?

Both are cunning charming rogues with sex appeal and fast ships. Kirk's got the vulcan and Solo's got the wookie, not sure who comes out in that fight. Kirk's got the drop kick but Han has (until recently) the willingness to shoot first. I'd say Kirk has a larger stable of girlfriends.

I've been chewing this over for a few minutes and I can't decide, either. They are both archetypal Dudes and could you really say of either one, "If not for that one fault he'd be supremely cool."?

Kirk wins. . .I thought long and hard about it. Kirk always stands and fights. . . Han looks for hidey holes and tries to run. . . .Kirk is the Hunter. . . Han the Hunted. Kirk Never shows fear. . . .Han looks like he gets mud running down the back of his leg when trouble happens. The Enterprise always performs. . . .the Millenium Falcon, will have a circuit failure at the exact moment it is needed,. . . waiting for Han or Chewy to hit the cockpit in the right spot, to make the circuits function. Kirk can fight with his bare hands or a weapon. . . .Han needs his gun or he is on the run. Kirk Uses his smarts when the chips are down. . . Han kicks into Fight or Flight looking for the way out.

Well, Kirk definitely has the resources. He's got Starfleet behind him, a massive, infinitely rich military force. Solo's, well, solo. He's fighting against a massive, infinitely rich military force (if a bit reluctantly).

So maybe it depends on where you stand on a massive, infinitely rich military forces.

Similarly, Spock choked out Kirk in a dual to the death, but it was ALL PART OF KIRK'S AWESOME PLAN.

Han Solo shot Greedo in cold blood....Kirk went man-a-mano against a person with FIVE times his strength in Khan...and he whipped his butt.

Actually that would be Han Solo's best chance...using brute force...because in the strategic department...Han Solo is an instinctive person but a terrible planner.

Kirk is not only a superior strategist...but he's also deadly with his physical prowess.

I say Solo wins,he'll do what he has to and that includes cheating so he'll blow his head off like he did to Greedo
