    Your Best Trek Series Episodes

OK my best TOS would have to be "City on the Edge of Forever" a real character developing story. I am so surprised that NO other series or movie even attempted to use the Guardian of Forever (Other then the Toon) as a plot device. Heres a portal that will take you anywhere at any time.. Come on.

TOS runner up would be "Let this be your Last Battlefield" I think it really made people think about bigotry.

    "I dont see the difference"
    "What are you blind?"
"Your both black on one side and white on the other"
"But I'm Black on the right and He's black on the left"

Next Gen my best pick would be Best of Both Worlds With Picard and the Borg.

Next Gen runners up would be the one with Picard being tortured by the Cardassians and the episode Lower decks. It was great to see a episode about a hand full of the nameless Other crew.

DS9. While I like the whole Dominion war thing linked together the best single episode I think was Trials and Tribulations. Just the whole merging of TOS and DS9 was fantastic.

Voyager. Very hard pressed for this one. The only good one I really liked was the one with the Time weapon and every time the Alien captain wanted to change the past things got worse.

Enterprise. Iv'e said it before Into the Mirror Darkly was a movie quality storyline. Many series actors love to cut loose getting to play their opposite counterparts and its fun to watch but adding the TOS Tholian web plot was outstanding. Like Star Trek II I think its great when they flesh out old episodes.

Lo there do I see my Father.
Lo there do I see my Mother and my Sisters and my Brothers.
Lo there do I see the line of my people back to the begining.
    Lo they do call me.
They bid me take my place among them.
In the halls of Valhalla where the brave may live forever.

          TOS:
I likes 'em all...live action and animated.

          TNG:
The one with Scotty, followed by Yesterdays Enterprise---which should have been saved for the first feature film--how great would this plotline be, reworked to use the Enterprise A crew!?
(OK--All Good Things was pretty good too).

          DS9:
          None--Just glad its all over!

          Voy:
          Ditto!

          Enterprise:
Most of the last season was great. I wish Manny Coto could have run this show from the start! It wouldnt have stepped all over established canon, like the earlier seasons, and it would have been fantastic, slam bam Trek...just like the original was.

For the original series it was the ones with Klingons and cool aliens I liked most.
I do like, please pardon me, I don't remember the titles
The one where the female was pregant and would only let "MacOy" touch her.
The one where Kirk and SPock fought in the arena
            Tribbles
            Menagerie
            Piece of the Action
            The one with the Horta

My absolute favorite is still the one with the Gorn!

            Next Gen:

            Any with Q
            All Good Things
            Any with the Borg
            Hue
            The one with Famke Jansen

Darmok at Tanagra is my favorite single episode.

DS9: a few of the later ones. I liked Odo alot. The one with Lwaxana and Odo where they're trapped in a turbolift or something comes to mind.

Voyager: Mmmmmm... not sure. Probably the ones with the Borg and the last spisode. I liked the Hunter guys alot too.

Enterprise: I have no use for this show.

My favorite episode is the one where Picard is knocked out and lives a lifetime in a few brief moments. Very touching episode.

txteach, you are right on target with your observations on Let That Be Your Last Battlefield! The producers of the Next Gen have said about that episode, Oh, that was their Star Trek; that's not "our" Star Trek. Wrong answer! Two people who hate each other because their black and white pigmentation is reversed is not really different from real racism. Racism is just that simple-and just that wrong!

I have found myself returning to these episodes time and time again. Maybe the episodes are best when the crew is down and nearly out:

The Naked Time -The briefing room argument between Kirk and Spock, the trip up the tubolift, and walking onto the bridge while McCoy rips Kirks tunic and injects him with the antidote. All the while the music conveys the sense of sadness and desperation.

Bread and Circuses - perhaps the penultimate landing party in distress,(and violation of the prime directive), episode because the villain also knows the rules by which the Federation lives and knows the line that Kirk and crew cannot cross. Some episodes pretend to be a chess game-this episode is a chess game.

Assignement:Earth - Gary Seven-we want to believe him but can he be trusted? Is he here to help or to alter history and wipe out the Federation?

I think you've just read my mind.
I'd have to concur about all of your picks.
Except Voyager. I'd rather have my teeth pulled via my rectum than watch that again...

                  Some other picks:
                  TOS:
Devil in the dark (with the Horta, finally a non-humanoid alien)
Amok Time (sex drive in space, very avant-garde for TV in that time periode)
Episodes that featured Kirk showing weakness and humanity, making him very "real", instead of the typical superheroic leader
Arena: Hey, it has The Gorn!!! I love rubber aliens!!!!

TNG: so many good ones, let's pick the ones that fleshed out the Klingons, going from "hey, I have a goatee, I'm so alien!" to having an actual culture...

I really loved the one with David Warner as the cardassian torturer. A non-SF series would have won prizes for that episode!

DS9: once Sisko lost his hair, episodes got a lot better. Go figure!

                  Voyager: Don't get me started.

Enterprise: OK? so shoot me, but I liked this show a lot. I liked the characters, I liked the slower pace, and I liked Scott Bakula. Pity about the crappy last episode....
                  .
                  .
                  .
"When things are at their darkest, it's a brave man that can kick back and party."

I did say I was hard pressed to find a fav Voyager Episode.

Of all the dreck that series offered that is the only episode I came close to finding interesting. A best of the worse I suppose.
