Who was your Local Late Night Horror Host?

Who was your local late night Horror Host? Was it the original Svengoolie? Zacherley? Vampira? Elvira? Was your favorite nationally known?

When I was VERY young, we had Chilly Billy Cardille in Pittsburgh, but in Virginia Beach, we had Dr. Madblood.

Chilly Billy was well known, even if Chiller Theatre was no longer airing in the 1980s. In Virginia, Dr. Madblood was off the air for years, before his revival in 1989.
Looking for Green Arrow accessories, Doctor Who Sonic Screwdriver, and Japanese Popy Megos (Battle Cossack and France, Battle of the Planets, Kamen Rider, Ultraman) and World Heroes figures

Absolutely. I was a great fan of Super-Host, and I met Big Chuck & Hoolihan with Little John. Great memories of discovering classic horror through them and some hidden gems like The 4-D Man.

Victor Ives hosted Sinister Cinema in Portland from '73 to '76. I watched that when I was little. Horror double features. I don't remember any others in Oregon back in the day.

Larry Vincent (AKA Sinister Seymour), said to be the title inspiration for the movie Fright Night as well as the character of Peter Vincent, vampire killer.

Sir Graves Ghastly - although short lived, his shows on Friday night and Saturday afternoon (WTOP Washington DC) were never to be missed.

When one of the first local independent stations came on the air (ultimately became an NBC affiliate, but I digress), they had an "Elvira type" named Misty Brew... A few years later, another channel had a guy named Ned the Dead...

Dunno about local...but as a kid I'd always watch Joe Bob Briggs on TNT and Rhonda Shear on the USA network.

If you didn't have a 'local' Host, any national host is fine.

A timely article on local horror hosts

Every night across the U.S. local horror hosts don masks and costumes to tell jokes and revel in the absurdity of classic horror films.
