That seems to be all what Depp has nowadays...as his A list start status is slowly fading with each passing movie.

Leonardo DiCaprio has taken over his top spot as far as choice movies/roles are concerned.

I liked the first movie, but fell off somewhere at about part 3. I've seen bits and pieces here and there. I haven't avoided them on purpose, things just haven't lined up.

Disney World beefed up the attraction by adding Jack Sparrow, Davy Jones and Blackbeard, however. Didn't take away from the classic parts either.

I've enjoyed the series immensely. I think they are well written and intriguing. I've not allowed myself to get caught up in the Depp backlash because this country has a odd habit of tearing down icons they build up. I watch these movies and judge them on their own merits. Stranger Tides was the weaker of the story lines but I found myself liking it more than World's End which I felt was too plot heavy. Stranger Tides felt more like a singular Sparrow adventure without endless subplots to tie-up with other characters. I'm looking forward to this new one but I do have to say the Depp backlash seems to have found it's way into the marketing. How often do you see a Pirates film where the star is not shown? That's a symptom.
