You can't have a monster song discussion without the Misfits, but personally I much prefer Danzig era Misfits. That stuff was brilliant.

        "Horror Business"
        "Astro Zombies"
        "Teenagers from Mars"
        "Vampira"
        "I Turned into a Martian"
        "Ghouls Night Out"
        "Return of the Fly"
        "Horror Hotel"
"Halloween" plus "Halloween II" (and Danzig's Samhain did part III)

Plus a bunch more that I'm forgetting.

Sure, why not? Like most of Rob Zombie's stuff it's a little "stream of consciusness" but it could easily refrence a vampire racing in his motorized coffin. ("Dragula" being Gran'pa Munster's race car.)
Lyrically he went in a different direction, but I think the song was at least originally inspired by the Munsters' car. Especially if you watch the music video for the song.

Matter of fact; a LOT of Rob's music refrences old b-movies.
Very true, and so do his films. And he's supposed to have an amazing collection of horror memorbilia.

Some good songs...I like "Pet Cemetary" by The Ramones and "Cold Chills" by Kix.

If you like rock and roll (in the rawest sense) and zombies (and who doesn't) you MUST check out the Guitar Wolf movie "Wild Zero"... It's Japanese and that only makes the combo BETTER!

Can't believe Roky Erickson hasn't been mentioned yet. The entire Stu Cook sessions have titles that sound like 50's horror flicks:

                Two Headed Dog
                I Think Of Demons
                Creature With The Atom Brain
                Don't Shake Me Lucifer
                Bloody Hammer
                Stand For The Fire Demon
                If You Have Ghosts
                I Walked With A Zombie
                Night Of The Vampire

You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...
