As I slowly reacquire the entire Universal Monsters Classic Collection on VHS, I'll be posting beautiful hi-res images of the incredible box art for the entire series. IMO these are the best ever created for the home video market. The entire collection consists of 37 titles, making it the largest collected film series also.

Yep! I still have my originals in pristine condition. When it comes to Universal I try and retain as much as possible. Oh, who am I kidding... I save everything.

Those are gorgeous. There are some scans over at the UMA board in case you are wanting to see them all in one place, but I appreciate you posting them here.

Universal would be better served using THOSE as their Blu Ray/DVD packaging, AND they need to make those the basis of their licensing style guides.

Hmmm---it's not until I see them both together that I realize The Phantom and The Creature both have a similar expression on their face! LOL!

The Phantom's excuse? ::shrugs:: Maybe he's got gas or something.

But The Creature's expression is pretty much the same look of utter disdain afforded me by my cats when I try to put them in Hallowe'en costumes---that look of "This is SO humiliating." I'm sure The Creature likely felt the same way being forced to wear clothing after swimming around nekkid for so many years.

I have Creature, Invisible Man and Bride.
I couldn't sell them off, they just have that great nostalgic feeling. I keep them in my toy room on display.

Yeah, I made the horrible mistake of selling mine when I first got into blu-ray years ago...it was mostly a space issue at the time, but I've regretted it ever since. I just decided I was gonna track every last one down new and sealed. I'm 25% there already!

I picked this lot of monster VHS movies including some Universal, some MCA and the very strange Andy Warhol's Frankenstein at a yard sale this past summer for $7. I've watched about half of them. I'd recommend getting the Warhol one but keep in mind it is X rated. It's not a porn knock-off but does have some nudity and lots of violence. Mine aren't mint but just fun watchable old VHS tapes with boxes. Enjoy collecting them and hope you get all that you're after!

Had them all, still kept a few, love the Ghost of Frankenstein which was my favorite of the Frankenstein series,
Chaney did an excellent job as the monster, and don't forget the Invisible Man art covers as well.

I liked him as the Monster too. Don't get me wrong, I still prefer Boris, because of the...soul...he brought the character. But Chaney's stature and big frame, and that touch of wild anger he naturally had brought something sinister and dangerous to the Monster. Glenn Strange had perhaps the best face, but was basically a mindless automaton, due to where the stories took the character. And poor Bela...he never stood a chance once they cut all of his dialogue.
