    Yokai Monsters: Spook Warfare

I must admit I'm not sure if I'd heard of this 60s monster series from Daiei (the Gamera people) before, it looks cool and right up my alley.

Going to watch this later. Thanks!
I'm a big fan of Yokai and I draw them for the kids when I am in Japan but now the are all cute monsters so no one recognizes my Kappa! :/

So, is it, kinda like a precursor to Yo-kai Watch?
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Well, "yokai" just means ghost or supernatural monster in Japanese, so there's probably tons of Japanese stuff with "Yokai" in the title. But this does look intriguing!

Have any of you folks watched this one? I watched this a few years ago...

One of the major contributors to keeping Yokai in the public conscience(as they are ancient creations) was Shigeru Mizuki who passed away in November 2015. He created GeGeGe no Kitarō and his home town of Sakaiminato has many statues of his creations and his renditions of Yokai from the manga...

I saw this at the Toronto International Film Festival on the big screen. Hugely disappointed because I was expecting something completely different than a weird kids film from Takashi Miike given all of his other crazy adult stuff that had played the festival previously such as Ichi the Killer, Audition, and Dead or Alive.
