    I hate rats...Just watched 'Ben'

Didn't know really where to post this. It's supposed to be a horror film but it really isn't by today's standards. I just finished watching 'Ben' on VHS. Wanted to make sure it played well before going to ebay with it. It's a Advance Screener from Prism Video. It may be 30 years old but it played like a champ. Overall I can't stand movies about rats...but this one was just creepy. How could any kid want a rat for a friend is beyond me. Almost puked a little when the kid in the movie follows Ben into the sewers so he can see where Ben lives. One thing I never knew was that it was the sequel to 'Willard'. So weird seeing Meridith Baxter (Birney) as a teenager or at most a 20 year old in this movie.
"When not too many people can see we're all the same
And because of all their tears,
Their eyes can't hope to see
    The beauty that surrounds them
    Isn't it a pity".

    - "Isn't It A Pity"
    By George Harrison

No BS ........ I still remember seeing Ben in the theatre with my mom when it was brand new.

She took me because she thought it was about a bear (probably thinking of Gentle Ben).

I guess I don't have to explain how that fiasco turned out

Michael Jackson singing the song! I didnt have much fear of animals when I was growing up. I still have a hard time believing some people have fear of birds and chickens! I had a rat called Fester (he was hairless, and I named him after Uncle Fester from the Adams Family), and he was an amazing pet. He would watch tv with me in the recliner and then slightly put his teeth on my thumb to let me know he needed to pee so I would put him in his cage, he would pee, and then come back out. I would get another one but they have such a short lifespan and it crushed me when he died. I remember liking the movie quite bit.
