You are right, the parents messed up, father first, then mother. Still, kid had to go, it's a cruel and dangerous world, no time for babysitting...bad enough to keep yourself alive...

All of the people in Alexandria were just like Sam to be honest. Coddled and kept behind the walls and oblivious to what's happening in the world. It wasn't exactly his fault he was that way, it was his mother, and dead abusive father.

With Rick's girlfriend dying I haven't been as shocked as a death on this show since the prisoner Carol was taking to was killed with a bullet.

I give Rick a raise, well, okay, he lost his "girlfriend"...but he'll find another one...hopefully next time without a spoiled brat and angry teen as baggage, lol.

Seriously, too bad about the woman. But the spoiled brat was a serious liability and jeopardized everyone, he had no business being in that world, survival of the fittest, he had to go. The angry teen was a walking time bomb, you know he had it for both Rick and Carl...can't be perpetually looking over your shoulders, he had to go too.

No. I was hoping the outset of the episode that the zombies would end up with a "Sam"mich. Glad to see "son of porchrichard" get the business end of Michonne's sword, as well. I was sorry to see Jessie go, though, as Alexandra Breckenridge is a decent actress and some fine eye candy, as well.

Absolutely LOVED the opening sequence! I think I may have stood up and actually cheered when Negan's biker gang found out the hard way just what else Daryl and company were carting around. That, of course, will put them on a direct collision course with Negan whom I'm assuming will close out the season.

Overall, a damn fine spisode of TWD. Let's hope that can maintain some modicum of momentum at this point.

Best episode of the series so far, IMO. No shortage of action and the story line was incredibly strong too. Lots of the shows that had a ton of action seemed to do so at the expense of a tight story. This one wrapped it all up. The kid lost it when he saw that child walker. He held it together pretty damn good up to that point. That whole part was a very honest and powerful scene.

That was sloppy. The whole bit about Sam calling for his mom in the mid-season finale was basically ignored too. I suspect they originally planned that moment to play out right then... but then realized they needed to film this all at night if the fire scene was going to work.

Well, if you look at it the other way... Evil Wolf Dude did show a little humanity in trying to defend Dr. Denise. So maybe Morgan was right that he could be redeemed, if given the chance? I think reality lies somewhere between the polar extreme viewpoints of Carol and Morgan.

They have shown zombies drawn to their death by fire before, but I agree... This will be one of those incredibly useful tricks that they will never speak of again (until they write themselves into a corner and need it). Much like the zombie camouflage...

So... the zombies will just WALK into a fire and "kill" themselves? It's taken six seasons to realize this? At any point, all the characters needed to do was set a big fire and leave and zombies will walk into it like some kind of bug zapper?

I hated that part and it not only destroyed an otherwise good episode but it also undermined their entire zombie mythology and how the characters have been handling the zombies so far.

I will be surprised if the characters realize this and use it again. I feel it was a giant misstep.

That bit at the truck really took me by surprise. Gabriel manning up was nice to see. Glenn is just one lucky sob. Jesse & Sam...that was on Rick. Instead of getting them to safety first, he decides to push his luck, obviously another bad decision. And how long does it take to cross the street anyway? Half a day? They started in daylight and then it was nighttime!
