Guillermo del Toro's Bleak House I & II Revealed

NYT has a great feature on his houses of horror art & objects:

The director of fantasy and horror films keeps his collection of books, gory props and mannequins where he can see, and be inspired by, them.

…it's the witching season, let's celebrate!

One of my favorite directors. I wonder what happens, when it is your career, to your sense of fear (does it evolve? How does it relate to the general populace?) when you surround yourself with all the things that used to scare/disturb you and no longer bring you fear?
I remember three distinct horrors that made me scared at the theatre. Dawn of the Dead remake, The Mist, and The Descent. Would DOTD still bring me as much fear as it did after years of Walking Dead? I dont think Zombies scare me as much as they used to. A lot of it is atmospheric, I know. But, what scares a man when the things that go bump in the night, no longer do?

Guillermo Del Toro is doing a Charles Dickens adaptation?? No way!

What's next? "The Little Old Curiosity Shop of Horrors"?
