What justifies some crazy high prices for vinyl figures like this ? (and others too, see below Gargantuas)

Why is a vinyl toy in the toy store the same size $15.00 but these are that X 10+

Mikey, that's an excellent question. The only thing I can figure out is labor costs--the phenomenal sculpting and paints done by hand. I've seen companies put out figures Hot Toys quality for less than half the price, but look at the prices of Sideshow's PotA 1/6 figures when they came out and imagine what they'd be now--about 4x that price for a figure of similar quality. We viewed money differently then, too--back then, $40 seemed crazy, and just the other day I dropped $115 on an unlicensed series-inaccurate Spartacus from ACI, but man-oh-man does that head sculpt look like Andy Whitfield to me.

Those are nice but too pricey. If i'm not mistaken there was a Japanese version of these that came built and a set that you build yourself, 12 inch Mego versions would be so cool to have of them! I'm hoping with Godzilla making a comeback that someone would make WOTG figures just a bit cheaper.....

Here ya go Andy! These came blind bagged, I only bought a few bags and the odds were very slim that I would end up getting both Sanda and Gaira, so I feel lucky.

These X-plus USA Toho figures are killing me. There are a bunch coming out along with the Gargantuas this summer and they look great, but they are a bit too rich for my blood. Then again, I might buckle and pick out one or two.

If I see them again on my travels I will pick them up for you sir. You see them on ebay sometimes, they usually go for around 10 bucks each plus shipping these days.
