Given that Pacific Rim and Man of Steel preceded this on Legendary Pictures' slate of releases, suddenly the 9-11 style mayhem at the end of Man of Steel makes perfect sense as a test run for Godzilla's SFX.

The trailer looks great. I hope they are able to keep the suspense going for as long as possible before they reveal the big guy. My imagination runs rampant in that part of the movie where you only catch glimpses of the creature and its aftermath. That's where the awe and magic happens for me. Usually after the reveal, it's a game of "what's CGI and what's real" and though it's a part of the movie that's necessary , it's usually anticlimactic from that point on for me.

Back in the day, they delayed the reveal because they had to and the story benefited from it in my book. Now that they can render anything, they do. And it's seldom is as much fun as the expectations.

I have always loved the character but can't say I've been able to sit thru any of the movies. THIS trailer is the Zilla movie I've been wanting.
