    Werewolf Question

So, my son and I are walking up to school for kindergarten, and he says...

"Sometimes you can see the moon during the daytime."
    "Um... true..."
"So would that make werewolves change from being people?"

We talked about it the rest of the way to school. I love that little guy!

So anyhow, monster experts... what is the correct answer?

It's the phase of a moon that effects Werewolves. Not just the existence of it. Depending on interpretation, the full moon either has a magical or psychological effect on Werewolves.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

My guess would be it's not as strong in the daylight.

The old timers around these parts call a daytime moon a child's moon

I actually happen to be an expert on this subject. See my avatar? The full effects of the "FULL MOON" can not be felt during the day due to the radiation of the sun. This solar effect blunts the contrast needed to complete the transformation. Another point of interest is the weakening ozone layer. The ozone protected the balance of man to beast. Some werewolves have had difficulty transforming back to human form because of this. I personally have not.

Fangface just had to see a picture of the moon.

Thanks guys! I knew you'd have a good answer.

My first instinct was that a transformation could only happen at night. But the rules do seem to vary from movie to movie. In some, it seems exposure to moonlight from a full moon is a factor; in others, they can be locked in a windowless room and still change...

                Hmmmm....

Some werewolves don't need the moon at all.
