Jessica De Gouw is enough for me to give it a look.

I'm going to give it a shot, but I don't get the modern need to constantly make Dracula fey. That's not in the book, or any of the classic movies. Who's manlier than Christopher Lee?

I'm guessing the whole pretty boy vampire thing started with Interview with a Vampire in 76 and maybe the Dracula stage revival in the 70s with Langella that inspired the 1980 film.

Without a doubt the novel contains a sexual undercurrent, but the count himself is described as anything but sexy. Now his brides are a different story.

^Yeah, Langella was suave and charasimatic, but he didn't seem effeminate. I'm willing to give this guy a chance, but his presence isn't radiating "command' here.

Dracula in the novel is an evil bastitch through and through. There is a sexual undercurrent, but he is not pretty, and not desirable by any means. The original stage play added the desirable aspect.

Well I would rather see Jonathan Rhys Meyers as Dracula than his role as King Henry VIII in the historical drama The Tudors since that was WAY miscast.
