Seen Village of the Damned for the first time (Reeve one)

I'm only about 20 years late but I finally seen Village of the Damned (Christopher Reeve version)

It was ok - not great

I dont think it deserved all the nasty reviews

Was a little let down they didn't have the good kid vs the bad kids at the end.

The dead alein baby seemed to big to be a newborn ... reminded me of Stone Cold Steve Austin silk screened rag doll

Felt like a Stephan King TV mini-series

Also, was surprised Michael Pare was killed off so early

yeah, i watched that not too long ago myself. typical remake.

in fairness I did not think the original was all that great either. interesting and fun to watch but by no means a great movie

I saw this years ago. Reeve was good in it, but the movie was kind of "meh".

I personally really liked this movie. I liked it better than the original version.

Hmmmmmm.....I like both. The first one really set a creepy tone; I don't know if being filmed in black and white was responsible or if it was the non expressions on the faces of the kids. George Sanders is always fun to watch though; this time as a very nice person, who was initially thrilled to be a father, until he realized he had a cuckoo in his nest.

The Christopher Reeve one was different. The kids are murderous, almost from the get-go, although that one little boy without a partner made my heart ache. Kirstie Alley was still in pretty good shape, although she came off as being VERY detached and more interested in treating the kids as experiments, rather than children.

The dead alien baby in the jar really struck a nerve. I kind of felt sorry for the poor thing (I know it was a puppet, but I still felt sorry for the poor mother that had to bear it, and not know what was going on with it.)

I always enjoys Sanders, too, Jaida. I really enjoy the first version. The second is entertaining enough, but I cannot recall anything about it that would recommend it as a remake.

I actually feel a bit sad every time I watch Reeve now, and Superman is one or my all-time favorite films.
