    >Lugosi's line "Listen to them--children of the night. What music they make." might be one of the best lines in film history

Y'know.... that's true. Although THE best line is probably:

The Wolf-Man chasing punkarse Dracula all over the place in Abbott & Costello Meets Frankenstein.

Then Dracula transforms into a bat, but the Wolf-Man grabs him and both fall over a balcony into the rocky seas below.

      Wolf-Man baddarse...Dracula punkarse.

That's hilarious! I'd totally forgotten about that movie. Carradine's looking pretty rough there, too. It's hard to imagine he was kind of a pretty boy when he started out.

One of the scenes that always stood out to me is where the wolfman grabs Gwen by the throat and shakes her. Just check out how violent this scene is for 1941.
Also like the scene where Minnie sees the monster climb out of the windmill. Those faces she makes and her screams, I swear you can see Karloff fighting off his laughter beneath hi make up.

That and his line "there are far worse things awaiting man than death"

                Hmmmm....

Thinkin' on it; I always found the garden scene at the end of "Curse of the Cat People" really creepy.

Probably the best Universal horror scene, in my opinon, was Mary Philbin as Christine in Phantom of the Opera(1925), when she removed the Phantom's mask.Keep in mind, up until the unmasking, the public had never seen that makeup of Lon Chaney Sr.
All publicity photos were blacked out to keep the makeup a secret.Imagine the sudden terror of seeing the Phantom's hideous face.
