    Karloff as Frankenstein's Monster

It's been a LONG time since I attempted a painting. Well over 10 years, at the very least. I'm not sure why I gave it up. I always felt I was stronger with a pencil, I suppose. I've worked on my inking in the last decade, and I'm getting more comfortable with that, but I'm still a pencil guy.

Anyway, in the last several years, I've kind of rediscovered my love for the classic movie monsters, Universal in particular. Thanks to Brian recommending Kirk Hammett's book, I picked it up, and I couldn't put it down. The lovely scans of Basil Gogos' Famous Monsters covers worked their voodoo on me.

I'm no Gogos, but I'm happy with how Boris here turned out. Now I have the bug again!

It's got a real vintage feel to it! I like it! I can imagine it made into a jigsaw puzzle !

I like it a lot. If you ever make prints, I'd buy one.

It's actually painted on a comic backing board. I just had an itch to paint, and grabbed the sturdiest medium I had around.

Thanks for the kind words guys. Very encouraging!

Fantastic! That would make an awesome box or backer card.

Chris, your work is just amazing brotha. Why no one else has tapped you to do packaging art is a mystery to me. Your approach is fresh and exciting. I love it. Keep at it. I would think someone will come knocking. You deserve it and we the customers WANT it!

Thanks pal. I'd be more than happy to help out any of the ReMego companies on any packaging they might have. They know where to find me!

                          Oh man; that is great!

The striking colours and diffused lighting look give it an otherworldly quality. Almost like a half remembered but shocking dream.

Find an importer and get a G-Pen. They're great; good control and very smooth.

Thanks! My goal was to get a solid likeness, but not go into hyper-detail, keeping things somewhat ethereal. Gogos usually went with some very garish backgrounds with obvious brush strokes, etc, and it really made the dark figures POP, so that something else I was striving for.

Thanks, I'll give it a shot!
