    Texas Chainsaw 3D

Anyone going to see it? Even though I know it's going to be a big pile of dung that will most likely contain a lot of stuff that is going to infuriate me (hell, I see a lot of that just in the trailer already)...I'm still thinking of it. I just hate the idea of paying money these Hollywood creeps money.

Reasons I want to see it:

    1. I'm bored.

    2. Despite having well over 1,000 horrror/exploitation films and probably saw more than half that...I never saw a horror film in a theater. I think by the time I hit the age where I was able to and had knowledge of such films, the genre was long dead. Aside from a few underground films in the 90s, I think most films since the mid-80s are trash.

I'm confused is this another reboot?
I mean they rebooted it already and screwed up cause in the first reboot they cut off his arm??
Then came out with a prequel???
Now is this to take place 30 years later (nowadays) after the new reboot????
If so,is leatherface a one armed chainsaw wielding geriatric serial killer?????

I'm a huge TCM fan for the original films but don't think I have it in me to watch yet another reboot.

I think it takes place 20 years after the original.

As a huge Horror fan I will not be going to see it.
The reviews from several friends have not been positive in any way.
Also,it is indeed 20 years after the original, which makes the scenes of characters having smart phones just plain cheesy.
Passing on this and waiting for Evil Dead....just saw 100 new pics of that on BD and wow....actually looks scary.

          Hmmmm....

I was a teen during the 80's, so I've seen (voluntarily and otherwise) every POSSIBLE permutation of the "inbred mutant kills teens" story. Something like this doesn't interest me; although since it IS the 80's again it's nice that the current crop of teens can have the same (often painful) experience I did growing up.

          That'll show 'em!

So it is twenty years after the original 70's film?
            So we're talking 1994 then....
Then they have decided to scrap the concept of their own reboot and go with the original material?
or twenty years after the reboot?
I mean leatherface is no Ash.Plus he lost his arm at the shoulder and not at the wrist.
Damn I feel myself slowly getting sucked in,out of my own curiosity to see what direction they are going in...
Somebody go see it and just give me the spoilers...LOL

              Okay I'm not confused anymore;
Texas Chainsaw 3-D is a direct sequel to the original 1974 film, negating the previous sequels and ignoring the more recent reboot and prequel.Highlight clips from the original film appear during the opening credits, and the film features a sequence intended to take place the same day as the action in that first movie.

It negates all other sequels the reboot and prequel!!!
So I've invested 30+ years (I watched it early 81-82) into the franchise watched six films now I'm supposed to scrap it all and watch this one...LOL
              Sounds like insanity to me.

It was the sequel we should have gotten almost 25 years ago when they did TCM2. The huge discrepancy in time frame from the original to this being present day was the ONLY thing to bother me. Don't let some idiot's reviews keep you from seeing what you may enjoy. Go on dollar day or to a matinee and see for yourself. If you've enjoyed the other sequels at all you'll more than likely dig this one.

Is the gore as cheesy as what everyone is saying?
I always try to support any Horror feature, but this one is getting tore up all over the place.
But if you liked it,maybe I will go see it.....

It's just a bunch of people that should be leery of ever calling themselves horror fans. If you had any "like" at all for the original and TCM 2 and 3, then this one is a breath of fresh air over the remakes and TCM:TNG. Is it the best movie ever? No. Is it better than the original? No. Is it just as good if not maybe a bit better than any other TCM outing we've seen in the last 25 years? Yep.

Here's a review from another horror fan, not a mediocre, self-indulgent internet celeb that wouldn't know a good horror flick if it came up and bit them in the pants:
