Alien vs. Predator question

hate Alien 3

and am indifferent to Alien 4

I think Predator was meh and never seen any of the sequels.

Is Alien vs. Predator worth a look ?

Is it considered canon in the Alien movie series ?

IMO, they concentrate more on the Predator, than the Alien in Alien vs. Predator. By that I mean that it seems to be more of a Predator movie with an Alien thrown in. So if you didn't really like Predator, you won't think much of Alien vs. Predator. I personally liked it, but it's not something I would buy on Blu-ray or anything.

And as for whether the AvP movies are canon.... since Prometheus came out, there's been rabid fan speculation about how the seemingly contradictory origins of the Weyland Corporation shown in those movies might be reconciled with each other, such as the whole Peter Weyland/Charles Bishop Weyland controversy.

Prometheus is generally condsidered to have the canon status in that conflict.

Yeah, I agree, the first one is worth a look, Requiem was horrible. AVP was good in a b-movie sense, it lifted a page from the Thing with the isolated arctic setting.

They could have done so much more with the Alien Predator cross breed idea.

The second AvP movie was a massively wasted opportunity.
It was just a generic stalk & slash picture with annoying teenagers and aliens.

I thought the Matrix bit was kind of cool with the Face Huggers in AvP. Just couldn't get into the second movie. No idea why they thought it would be cool to film it with little to no light.

I liked AvP 1, and hated AvP 2 (which is basically, "we have an old Friday the 13th script lying around, let's just change the name from Jason to PredAlien").

I thought the first one was good, I liked the concept of the Pyramid as well.
