    Set your DVRs

Turner Classic Movies has a great lineup for Halloween starting at 5:30 a.m. with London After Midnight, The Ghoul, House of Dark Shadows, Repulsion, Dementia 13, The Last Man on Earth, The Devil Bat, White Zombie, The Body Snatcher, Frankenstein, Son of Frankenstein, Wolfman, The Mummy, The Mummy's Hand, Isle of Lost Souls, The Invisible Man.

That's a pretty good 24 hour run of horror films.

I've never seen the Ghoul or Dementia 13, and would highly suggest White Zombie, The Body Snatchers and Isle of Lost Souls if you've never seen them.

Freaks is also on TCM at 8 pm Tuesday, which is a film everyone should see at least once.

      Dementia 13 is good too.

The Body Snatcher is a fantastic film. I've heard some consider it Karloff's greatest performance, and I'd be hard pressed to argue. "You'll never get rid of me, Toddy..."

Bela isn't in it much, but he makes a lot of his small role.

I love 'Island of Lost Souls'! That is a killer line-up.

Just got Criterion's "Island of Lost Souls."

Love "White Zombie," & TCM shows a good restoration of it.

I only recently found out that the actor of short stature who carries the Loving Cup in the "One of Us" scene was Angelo Rossitto later of several Saturday morning Krofft shows and Master (of MasterBlaster) in Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome.

Did I miss a meeting? Isn't London after Midnight a lost film?

^I'm wondering about this too. The description on TCM says something about "a film believed to have been lost". I know TCM has aired a version using the stills from a picture book based on the movie before. This may be it, or perhaps they found SOME footage? Either way, the DVR is set.

Didn't get to check into my DVRed "London After Midnight", but did get to watch the majority of "Son of Frankenstein" before going to bed, even though I have it on DVD. A great way to end a great Halloween season!

It's a recreation with photographs. My wife wanted to watch it on Halloween but we stopped after about 15 minutes, saving it for another day.

I had recorded a documentary on William Castle, which was really great and that was our Halloween viewing.

How was the Castle doc? I think I forgot to DVR that one. I got the Val Lewton one last year, and it was very interesting.

The Castle one was great, clicked along nicely and I learned a great deal about the man.
