    7th Voyage of Sinbad!

I watched this on Blu Ray recently and three things:

    1) FANTASTIC MOVIE! one of my favs!

    2) They should have made a Mego line out of this movie

    3) I wouldn't mind seeing a remake!

That movie is off the Hook...How mego never Jumped on making a Sinbad figure is beyond me, Harryhausen is a true master and i love the other two Sinbads The Golden Voyage of Sinbad and Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger.

Yeah it is a good movie, love the Harryhausen monsters and creatures, also Kerwin Mathews plays Sinbad quite well.

If your a fan of Mathews,Rick, you may want to check out Jack the Giant Killer and The 3Worlds of Gulliver, all great movies from times gone by.

        1) one of mine as well.

        2) I'd be down with that (and mego's of any other Harryhausen movie characters too)

        3) only if P. Jackson or Del Toro make it.

I wouldn't mind a remake too much as long as they don't repeat the errors they made when remaking CLASH OF THE TITANS. And it MUST---I repeat MUST---have stop-motion, none of this weightless CGI nonsense....!
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

This is one of my FAVORITE movies!!

As a kid I wanted a copy of those jeweled tablets SO bad!

And that crown...don't get me started on the crown. I'll drool all over the computer screen if I do.

Tom Baker was excellent in this. This was almost immediately before he started Doctor Who, and he was one of the best bad guys I had ever seen. Mean, sneaky, untrustworthy, and more than willing to bury his enemies alive to achieve his ends.

              Now that's a bad guy!

John Phillip Law was great as Sinbad, almost as good as Errol Flynn's Robin Hood, and I don't say that lightly.

Kurt Christian, who played Haroun the comedy relief was just soooo cute at the time. He was an incompetent doofus that liked to drink, party, get laid, smoke hash, and was completely fumble fingered on the lute. Yet, he was brave enough to test himself against a six armed Kali figure, and walk into the lair of a Cyclopean Centaur armed only with a sword and his wits. He kinda grows on a person.

I stupidly confused this with Golden Voyage of Sinbad, which came out in the 70's; while this came out in the 50's.

                  I apologize.

Both were done with Harryhausen special effects; I love that Cyclops.

What really interested me as a kid was the treasure trove that the Cyclops had.

I know they were only prop jewels, and not the real deal. But just ONCE, I'd like to see a treasure trove of REAL jewels, piled waist high.

Also one of my favourite movies, along with Golden Voyage and Eye of the Tiger.
Harryhausen's stop motion creatures are magical.

I watched this movie with my son over the Winter and having never seen a Sinbad film before, he loved it and I loved it. There's something simplistic about it that will never be able to be captured on film again. I'm surprised that this franchise is just sitting on the shelves but after the Hobbit this year, there will probably be another wave of those types of films soon enough so who knows if a Sinbad relaunch won't be in the works. Then again after John Carter, probably not.

While not an action figure line, the Tomland Cyclops was based off this movie wasn't he?

I'd only see a Sinbad remake if Joss Whedon were to do it.

7th Voyage is a good one, although Eye of the Tiger is my fav because they use to show it in elementary school all the time.

A stop motion/live action feature would be a nice change of pace in these days of CGI. If it was done right. It'll be hard to compete with Harryhausens craftsmanship though!
