I agree, I wasn't expecting the tone of the film. I'm very on the fence. Since we have to find a babysitter if we want to go, that probably means I'm out.

I'm a big Dark Shadows fan and I'm going. My expectations are kind of low, if it's just a "fish out of water" movie, it seems like a weak entry for Burton/Depp. I hope there is more substance to it.

My daughter caught the trailer and is obsessed with it, I doubt I take her.

I put Dark Shadows in the same category as Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman. I'm aware of them, but during they're original runs they were so far above my head I never paid any attention.

My wife and I get to 2 (maybe 3) movies a year. I don't think this one will make the cut.

It looks like it might be fun - but most likely it will be a renter.

Not me - I simply can't spend my money on anything Tim Burton makes. It's a shame because this probably could be a good flick if done right.

Back in the '90s Burton made some of my favorite movies of the entire decade: Ed Wood and Mars Attacks. I even "liked" his Batman flicks and think Pee Wees Big Adventure is one of the funniest movies ever made. Lately though his films seem sorta weak.

When he got Dark Shadows I was excited. Supposively this was a movie he and Depp REALLY wanted to make. While im not counting it out just yet, im weary of it because of the previews I have seen.

I cant help but get a Adams Family vibe from it. Well, I always did think The Adams Family looked liked something he would make....

I still haven't seen Avatar, so I doubt this will make my viewing list. My wife likes Depp, so it may happen.

                  Hmmmm....

I'll probably catch it on cable. It looks kinda funny, and will probably be fairly low-impact entertaining. It feels like a lot of newer films do for me; okay, but nothing really noteworthy, good OR bad. Most new stuff reminds me of really expensive versions of the old 80's direct to video movies: fun, kills some time, and then you get on with life.

I will NEVER see this at any time or in any form...ever. I have seen the trailers and wanted to scream. What a waste. Such fantastic source material to be updated, all ruined.

Dark Shadows has been remade into a low brow comedy and The Munsters is apparently being remade into a dark drama...Hollywood is really messed up!

To echo, my thoughts exactly. What's this trend for taking old serious TV shows and making comedy movies out of them (Dark Shadows, 21 Jump Street, etc.)?

Burton picked a terrible time to release this thing. Avengers will steam-roller over it and Dark Knight Rises and Spider-Man will bury it. Should'a waited till Halloween to inflict this film on the public.
