    Anybody NOT seeing Dark Shadows?

The new trailer I saw last night convinced me not to see this film.

A clueless Barnabas stands there talking while on fire and has a bucket of water thrown on him.

What is this, Barnabas and the Three Stooges?

I can't give Burton any of my hard earned money for this...thing he's created.

I'm probably going to wait for the DVD release. Unless I hear good word of mouth hear and elsewhere from like-minded folks. I was expecting something akin to Burton and Depp's Sleepy Hollow and was looking forward to it. Now I'm pretty weary of it.

I like Depp, but he never struck me as being perfect for Barnabus Collins...

I want to see it on the big screen but will not due to low cash flow. I will probably wait to see it when it airs on of the movie channels.

My thoughts exactly--I really enjoy Sleepy Hollow, but DS looks like a tongue-in-cheek train wreck.

A shame, because I was really looking forward to it--even more then the Avengers. I thought the production stills were fantastic, but the trailers-ugh.

The production stills looked awesome. It gave the impression that this was going to be a serious attempt to renew the series.

It seems almost as if they got halfway into production and decided all of a sudden to completely redo the script, into.....what it is now.

I'll see it on disc. Itll be easier to turn it off instead of walking out of it.

Def wait for Blu Ray also. Not what I had imagined, but I'm excepting that it's going to be funny and getting used to it. I will definitely watch it.

                    Not me.

Johnny Depp simply does NOT have the gravitas to play Barnabas Collins in a believable manner.

Sometimes I wonder why they latch on to a property when it's clear they're wanting to make something completely different. "You know what would be great? We remake Midnight Cowboy, except it's about two zany roommates and their madcap adventures! Ben Stiller is Ratso!"

Depp is 1 of the Greatest Actors to grace the Film Industry Period.
                          And looks Fantastic as BC.
.... But I am really disapointed at the Humorous Direction of this Film, or what the previews show you.

I'm an "on the fence" Depp fan. I like some of this stuff, but I'm one of the few people who can't stand his POTC character. Just too damn commercial for my liking. This movie, however, does look like a lot of fun and I'm sure that MIB41 and I will likely both be planting our keesters in the theater seats to see it. Maybe not opening weekend, but definitely before it leaves the theaters....
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

I dig most versions of Dark Shadows...I enjoyed episodes of the original as a little kid, very much Liked the two 70s movies and really liked the 90's revival series...I have no plans to go and see this version...It just looks so stupid.

My first clue that something was off, was when I saw a still of Johnny Depp as Barnabas (with the somewhat silly, vampire make-up job)...I've had a bad feeling ever since I saw that photo...And then I saw the trailer...Ugh.
