The Blob (1958)

Watched again last night. Had not seen it in ages. It still holds up. It moves at a quick pace, has good acting and the simple Blob effects actually still really work. The ending is maybe a bit abrupt, but other than that it's darn good and a lot of fun. The theme song is also pretty cool.

I love the original version. This is also a great starter movie for a parent who wants to get their kids into the old B movies w/o being too scary.

I have a childhood memory of a scene were a longhaired guy is getting a haircut, the barber shoves his head in the wash basin, and it's full of Blob!
Was that in the sequel?

What does not hold up well (though it is neat for some early later to be star appearances) then and now is the sequel- Son of the Blob (aka Beware! The Blob)

Watched this a few weeks back,it's a great classic film,got it saved on my skybox,the remake is not to bad either.

Ah, okay, that makes sense. I don't think I've seen that. I do remember the Blob oozing through pipes and grabbing people in the remake.
