Personally I really liked Brendan Fraser in those films. The concept is so outlandish, I felt his character provided some much needed balance to a script that, if played entirely straight, would have come off campy. He was the only character that reacted the way most people would if something like this could happen.
I actually didn't mind the first Sommer's Mummy film, mostly because the original Universal Mummy films (not counting the first) was really a "b" series of pictures to begin with.
Just a bunch of fun pot boilers that I'm very fond of. In fact, the Kharis series ranks as one of my favourite Universal Monster films because they're so easy to watch.

cool, I enjoyed them all but the first was the best... especially the intro when they take you back to the beginning to explain what had happened...that part was amazing

Im with Tom The First one 1999 was really well made! The reboot is going to suck arse because so called filmaking has changed drastically since 1998/99 and all for the worst!
First one was good. Had an Evil Dead kind of feel to it. Second one was alright. Felt like it was aimed more at kids. Third one I haven't seen. Didn't think there was a point to it.
i liked the Fraser movies. the 3rd is the weakest, in large part because they did not have Rachel Weiz in it. the actress they replaced her with just did not have the same chemistry with Fraser
