    Anybody remember House ?

Think it was mid 80's and starred William Katt and Richard Moll

It's weird seeing Moll as a bad guy

I originally seen it in the theatre and liked it

Haven't seen for like 20 years

    Anybody else like it ?

I did enjoy it. I did not like the sequel. The first one was unique in it's story. Gosh, I haven't seen it in over 20 years.

It's funny I found this thread today, as last night on Netflix I saw "House" and then when I clicked it was disapointed it was some new version. I would love to see the oldie.

Yeah man - as a kid I was a huge fan!

I actually saw it again a few months ago, and it mostly holds up. The only real disappointment watching it now was realizing that all the great songs on the soundtrack were covers, and not the original classic recordings. I couldn't tell as a kid.

I haven't rewatched the sequels since I was a kid (I think they actually made 4 of them).

I remember a little in-joke about part 2: first one starred George Wendt (Norm on Cheers), and the sequel starred John Ratzenberger (Cliff).

Yeah - reading now that House II: The Second Story was more of a comedy than the first - which explains why I would have been disappointed as a kid.

Here's a link to the IMDb listings:

          House:
          House (1986) - IMDb

          House II: The Second Story:
House II: The Second Story (1987) - IMDb

          House III (The Horror Show):
The Horror Show (1989) - IMDb

          House IV:
IMDb - House IV (Video 1992)
(Looks like this one returns to the characters in Part 1)

I liked them.(1+2) They were a fun kinda matinee type horror flicks. Never seen the other sequels. I could stand to see them again. Too bad these films seem to slip through the cracks and disappear. Maybe Svengoolie could play 'em someday?

I remember liking it a lot as a kid. Having Katt and Moll helped, as I was a fan of GAH and Night Court. I think Fred Dekker, director of Monster Squad fame wrote the script? He talks about it on the Monster Squad DVD I seem to recall...

Saw the first two back when they were first out. Not bad, but not great.

                              Yup..."Ding Dong, You're Dead"

The Second Story was always on HBO back in the day and kind of took the CHUD route in that the first one was an actual horror flick but the second was a scary comedy. I saw Second Story before I saw the original and remember thinking the two films had completely different styles to them. I actually like the second one better but thats mostly because I watched it over and over when it would come on and I was like 11 years old at the time.
