Horror Express with Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing

Caught this the other day on TCM. I was channel surfing late at night and came across it. An early 70s low budget B level horror movie with Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing that I had some how not seen before!? I was like, I am so there. The entire movie took place on a train. It was a mix of hammer style horror, sci-fi, zombies and a touch of The Thing. It was done in a way that you could interpret the monster as an alien or the devil. It was pretty neat.

I almost forgot, Telly "Kojak" Savalas was in it too.

It use to be on the weekend horror movie and always creeped me out.

I've seen it on TCM a couple times now and like it more than ever. Lee and Cushing together is always classic but as two good guys in a horror movie and it's still good makes it stand out on all the more.
As a kid I remember Savalas being in it much more than he really is but he owns the scenes he's in.
The concept screams for a remake. They could do so much with it.

An alien who has been on the planet since before the Dinosaurs has surived by living in various lifeforms in the past until he is frozen/trapped in a caveman who has now been dug up and is being transported on a train.

That movie is so cool, I love it.

It really holds up too. I remember seeing it ages ago, and upon rewatching it recently it still rocked. Great Hammer movie. Good suspense, acting (of course), gore shock, Just great.
Savalas is always fun, but he did really shine well in his bit part here.

Man, I wish I had caught this on TCM. I'd watch those two guys read a phone book for two hours. I need to find this.

The most memorable item from this flick that I recall is the old eye myth. The myth that a dead mans eye will retain the last image (That of his killer) it see's. Other than this. I dont remember any thing else of the plot. Flicks like this always had some cool story concepts.
