I have a bunch, I'm missing the Sideshow, which is crazy expensive, and it bothers me slightly that his rubber outfit, when you pose him, get folds where there shouldn't be any. I wish they would have sculpted him solid with joints.
I love the Sideshow 8" and the new Diamond "Creature with damsel-in-distress".
And can't wait for the new EMCE Creature, of course....

---^ I have that Hasbro one, he's awesome!
He looks really small next to my huge standee though:
Of the Universal Monsters, the Creature is easily my favorite, but I don't actually own very many!!
My favorite is the 12" Sideshow ones, regular the silver screen edition, but sadly I don't have any.
My secondaries would be my Telco Mottionette, like Thunderbolt's. I don't have any good pics taken yet tho.

And I just cannot get enough of the tin-wind up figures: Nope, don't have that as well!
And the minimates are cute. And those I can afford.Last edited by Splitty; Mar 19, '12, 7:26 PM.Comment

Without question my favorite to date is the Sideshow figure. I snapped him up the second he came on the market. I can't wait for the EMCE Creature. Paul and co. really kicked major arse on that figure. I'm beyond impressed. I will buy two of him.Last edited by MIB41; Mar 23, '12, 6:30 AM.Comment

I just can't choose. There's a huge personal history there for me, I've loved that character since I was five and the film, its sequels, the character, costume, design, rights, story, and many other aspects have multiple places in my life.
As a child, finding the Remco Mini-Monster on the pegs at the K-Mart my grandfather and I frequented when I would visit my grandparents town was a near religious experience. I vividly remeber FEELING that I must be dreaming, excitedly explaining to Pop (that's what everyone called him and the name I knew him by) how incredible it was. So there's that. Though I wouldn't know about it for almost another decade, the Remco 9 inch figure is another favorite, much derided pajama suit and all.
I love the AHI wide waist version, it's a well made toy for its time - aside from the paint issue - and a cool stylized representation of the Creature (modeled on the first Aurora kit). I stared at the photo and drawing in out-of-date ads in Famous Monsters of Filmland magazine for I don't know how many hours.
Sideshow's 8 inch and 12 inch figures are a zenith of film accuracy a beautiful sculpting. The Amok Time figure is a fave, I dig stylized versions and it's the size of a toddler. I also have a passion for the tiny superdeformed Horror World gashapon figure made in Japan in the mid-eighties. I could go on and on, but the end result will be the same: I just can't pick one, but I'm really looking forward to the new one from Mezco!Comment

I'm really, really looking forward to the EMCE DST version (and planning to buy a second one to kitbash).
As a kid the Remco 3 3/4" was with me on every single trip to the pool... but the favorite is probably the 9" fig. I almost wore out my thumbs making him grab things, but I was always wishing the arms were jointed too.
Someday I'll get an AHI creech, but I don't think it will dislodge the Remco for nostalgia reasons.Comment

I never had a creature figure as a kid, which is weird because i was OBSESSED with him at an early age. I took this book out 50 times:
eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices
The only Creech toy I ever had as a kid (AND LOVED) was quasi figurish:

A lot of monster kids have Famous Monsters to blame for their obsession, for me it was all Crestwood. My local library still has the Godzilla book I memorized.Places to find PlaidStallions online: https://linktr.ee/Plaidstallions
