Frankenstein, always reminded me of my dad oddly enough, gigantic, square headed and insanely strong. At least that's how he appeared to me as a kid.

Man, that's a hard question to answer - I love them all. Today, I guess I'll go with:

1. Frankenstein
2. Bride of Frankenstein
3. The Wolf Man

Well, the Creature is my #1, but I really don't count him in with the others, in part because he's from so much later ('54) and in part because he's more science fiction than horror. That said:

1. Dracula. The Lugosi portrayal was so haunting to me as a child seeing it on television that, while many sequences in the film don't work for me today, Bela's presence still originates all things gothic and spooky in my mind.

2. Frankenstein's Monster. Again, the actor behind the make-up, in this case Karloff, makes it all. His turn in those first two films is beyond the pale.

3. Eric the Phantom, as driven by Chaney. The acting and the make-up still kill.

The Bride is the runner up, but in terms of films it's one I can watch repeatedly. The art direction is beautiful and the story & dialogue are so full of double entendre it's ridiculous.
