Still looks way better than most of the CG dragons that have appeared in movies since!
And my two cents on the KK leading ladies debate:
Fay Wray, Jessica Lange and Naomi Watts are all gorgeous.PUNY HUMANS!Comment

Funny Kong 76 story;
My mom bought me the poster, the cheap one you could get at Kresgees, not the official one sheet. It's the same image, it's just smaller with no credits, etc-- I immediately fell in love with it and put it on the door to my room. As I'd stare at it for literally hours on end, I started to notice the crazy scale issues;
Kong is straddling the twin towers? OMG, he must be 10 times the size of the original Kong!!! Cool!!! But wait a minute, wouldn't that make the girl in his hand, like 10 or 12 feet tall? Hmmmnnnn--- Look at the size of her compared to the helicopters and jets around them-- and what is that in his right hand? The space shuttle???A rocket??? I dunno...
I still dig the poster, but the scale is completely out of control.
SCAs far as the movies go,i have never seen the 2005 one and its a tough choice between the other two,i like them both,but i gotta go with the 76 version as my favorite.

I can't even see arguing that 70s version was more technically innovative than the 30s version. The 30s version pushed every available film technology over the edge - I'm not knocking the techniques used in the 70s version mind you - it's not like one has to stink for the other one to be good or anything.
For what it's worth I also think Fay Wray is a total doll.Comment

I could understand your assumption a little more readily if I had a history of taking cheap shots at other people's personal appearances. However, my steadfast belief is as follows: Nobody, and I mean nobody, is responsible for what nature handed them. We are all responsible to take care of what we were dealt, but none of us were allowed to actually choose what we look like. This, of course, includes what the natural aging process does to us. Therefore, making fun of someone for something they have no control over is not only mean-spirited but IMO a form of evil.
That said, when somebody decidedly turns themself into a freakshow, (neglect, drug abuse, plastic surgery, self-mutilation, self-alteration, etc.) it's an entirely different situation and I take it on a case-by-case basis. The Superman plastic surgery dude, for instance, fair game.
You're usually a voice of reason on this board. Your posts are generally fair-minded, well researched & thought out, thought provoking, and insightful. That's why I took the time to call you out on this, I've grown to respect your opinions and would like to continue to do so.Comment

Jack Black is horrible in that movie and he had no business being in it... If the rest of the movie wasn't as good as it is, Jack Black would have ruined the film for me...
