Love this movie. It's what me and my boys kicked off Halloween with 2 years ago and it really started my oldest son's love of both Abbott and Costello and old horror movies. We now have watched all the old Universals and too many others to count. It even helped us get into other classics.Comment

I really liked Glenn Strange's portrayal of the Monster. He looked really powerful. Karloff is still the King, but he was a more gentle creature....

I got this last year for me. This year, I'm gonna share it with my daughter. We watched Planet of the Apes last week and Jaws a few weeks earlier. I can't seem to get her interested in Star Wars. She gave up halfway through Empire ( my favorite movie) so I have my work cut out for me.Comment

It's too bad that people like Chaney Jr. and Karloff thought this was an insult to their industry. Quite the contrary. I thought it enhanced their appeal tremendously. You can't always take your work too seriously. Monsters are made to be screamed AND laughed at. Actually when I was a kid, I still found the monsters creepy. It just felt extra real to see them attacking Abbott and Costello. In some ways, this film stands the test of time better than some of the originals. Very witty on so many fronts. A timeless classic anyway you slice it.Comment
