Episode 3 down, and while there are still some minor weak points which bug me, I have to say that I am officially hooked...100%.
The revealed history between Moira & Constance answered several questions, but of course, raised many more. Larry has grown from an annoying pebble in Ben's shoe to a primary source of personal horror. It will be interesting to see how that all plays out, especially with the missing persons detective as an eye witness to the tension between Ben & his "indiscretion".
The murder tour was a hoot, which brought us some much needed history on the original occupants/builders of the house. The scene where Constance spots Tate in the upstairs window only adds to my suspicion that they are somehow related. I'm also beginning to wonder if the basement dweller is one of the Doc's experiments gone dreadfully wrong, and what exactly is it's connection with Tate?
Are we to understand that Moira was the influence that brought a hazy Ben to that particular area in the yard time & time again? Was she hoping for some sort of "release" that has since been blocked by Larry's hasty action and Constance's architectual recommendation? If so, how would that release actually have played out?Comment

Episodes 4 & 5 down. Was a little disappointed with episode 4, and hoped it was merely a build up for the second part (episode 5) and not a directional shift. Seems to be the case, episode 5 picked up the pace again and is back on track.
WoW! We learned alot in these two episodes, and new questions have come to the forefront. Will Addie return? Will Constance seek revenge (warranted or not)? Who the heck is in the gimp suit, and how did he kill Chad's partner? Is Hayden here to stay, and will she play well with the other "residents". Will she even be missed by anyone? Did Tate really do what we're being led to believe he did, or was it someone else for whom he took the fall? How will Violet react to whatever the truth is? What happened to Constance's other two children? If Larry isn't a ghost, what the heck is he? How can he materialize at just the right time? Will Chad chase him off? What the hell is growing inside Vivien? Will Ben return?
Staying tuned!Comment

^ Yeah thye whole thing on Part 1 of "Halloween" about the dead being able to walk amongst the living leads me to believe Tate is a ghost...that's why he never keep appointments with other shrinks and why he was able to meet Ben outside of the house. Same for Moira being able to visit her mother in the hospital.Think OUTSIDE the Box! For the BEST in Repro & Custom Packaging!Comment

Tate must be a ghost...
A case can be made against Constance that she is too. Now that the daughter was killed by a hit and run on Halloween, she can come back as a ghost as well, unless....she already is.
You gotta love this show. Its fun to watch.mego's befo ho'sComment

Did anyone else get the feeling that all the organs Jessica Lange's character was offering up for Connie Britton's character to eat, might have been left over from Lange's child that was ran over by a car a couple of weeks ago.
The brain looked too small, but still.Comment

^I did not receive that vibe at all. I sure hope that is not the case.
I took it for it's face value: sweetbreads, specifically...pig organs. There are plenty of porcine references to back up the concept: the pig body parts preserved in jars, the winged pig creature on the Doc's table, the pig limbs fused to the Montgomerys' dismembered son, the ultrasound tech's claim of seeing the baby's hooves in the sonogram, and the "Here Piggy Pig Pig" storyline.
Addie was taken to the morgue intact. There is no indication that Constance would desecrate her daughter like that, nor any indication that she would even have had the opportunity. But who knows? Anything is possible on this show!
I'm wondering if this baby is some sort of depraved "bride" offering for the Montgomery/Frankenstein pig beast in the basement? An offering in exchange for the release of the trapped souls?Comment

Why are pigs so entrenched in horror film lore? Weird.
The brain eating was creepy, especially since it was done so nonchalantly, as if it was just a bowl of ice cream. Tate's reveal was as expected, and oddly, he's seemingly becoming the good guy of the show (despite being a psychopath murderer). He's saved Violet a number of times now.Comment

Great question. My guess would be to touch on a primal level of fear & disgust? Wild boars can be vicious and intimidating, and even the ancients who were brave enough to hunt them down & feast on them couldn't defend themselves against the inevitable disease & parasites that plagued the beast. Of the hooved animals, the hog is generally considered to be among the filthiest. I suppose there's also the long standing religious disdain component?
I thought the Piggy Man we saw in the bathtub was really well done. Although we only caught a quick flash of it, it seemed alive & creepily realistic.Comment

I didnt really catch on to this last post , until I saw the last episode tonight. I actually eat pig brains from time to time, apparently its really good for U. Maybe not raw, but my mum frys finely chopped onions, with some garlic, she then gets the pigs brains and gently seperates it with a fork, adding a couple of raw eggs, seasoning salt and pepper, and basically stirs and frys like scrambled eggs. Add some parsley and some lemon juice, and serve with fresh crusty french stick with butter. Trust me Guys, beautiful, no jokeLast edited by alex; Nov 14, '11, 8:33 PM.Comment

I still have these on my DVR, just every time I think about watching them, I don't. Looks good and bad at the same time. I haven't read the majority of the posts before this, because of spoiler concerns. One question.......Does it get better?Comment
