    Johnny Depp as Barnabas Collins...

    This....

...was posted over at AICN and is reportedly a look at Depp as Barnabas Collins in Burton's take on that classic property.

Personally, I ain't gettin' a good vibe from it....
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

So, that's where Micheal Jackson went.

If Ben Cross weren't too old for the part, I'd say get him to play it.

He did before in the revamped series, and I liked him in it.

        But Johnny Depp????

Uh, no disrespect to Johnny, but he doesn't have the gravitas to play Barnabas.

To me, Barnabas has only ever been portrayed and portrayed well, by the one, the only Jonathat Frid.

Hard to believe he's still alive!

God bless him, the man is still feisty and kicking!

I never have watched the show so to me it will all be new. my bet would be for most people it will be new as well.....the long time fans may not like it but i bet for new generations who have never seen, or probably even heard of, the show, it will be cool. and will likely make truck loads of money with Depp and Burton on it
think of it this way, if the movie does well, it should pave the way for all sorts of merchandise from the original series - new releases, etc

Theoretically, but look what happened with Green Hornet. Not much, & still no '60s DVD.

I much prefer Leonardo DiCaprio...I always look forward to his movies...not Depp's.

Wonder if its being shot in black and white, that might explain the makeup, the girl seems kind of overly done also.

I don't think I've seen a Tim Burton film to date that doesn't have a filter over it to offer atmosphere to his environments. So I wouldn't take much to heart over this one simple shot.

I have no problem with Depp in the role but I am just not getting that make up.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...
