    Död Snö

No, I'm not drunk typing this, I'm talking about the new Norwegian version of Evil Dead, Dead Snow.

The story is nothing special: a group of people go to a cabin in the Norwegian woods and face 300 WWII Nazi Zombies.
I was expecting another weak entry like Outpost (close but no cigar for that one), but Dead Snow is a bullseye hit!

Pretty scary in the first half, outrageously OTT in the finale.
Some of the kills are totally off-the-chart, I had a blast. The obnoxious movie nerd gets in a great way, just the way we like and expect it!

    It's good old-fashioned buckets-of-fake-blood goodness!

I swear this has been around for a couple of years now since I first saw it. I guess it's just getting released in Belgium now? I thought it was fun. Couldn't wait for the annoying group of young folks to die horribly.

I saw these really sweet Dead Snow 12" figures in Asia when I was there prior to Christmas.

Those figures are awesome, very movie-accurate!
Can't say I'd be into have some Nazi figures in my home, but excellent craftsmanship.
I can actually see just a hint of Hitler in that commander.

The movie is from 2009, I just happened to find it in the bargain bins now. Can't go wrong with a $5 purchase...

Saw this at a theatre a couple of years ago. It was a lot of fun. The closest thing to an Evil Dead movie I had seen in a while.

I would really, REALLY love to see someone do a film like this and NOT go all goofy, silly and over the top with it. Take the subject matter and the genre seriously... It's a great premise, but I just can't stand the silly, and ever so predictable approach every film like this seems to take. A serious, dark, hardcore zombie flick would rule... Maybe I'll make one.

I'll be first in line to watch it.
            I'm a huge zombie fan.
also I'm pretty sure dead snow is on netflix now.

I bought the non us version of this a few years back and I really enjoyed it. It was over the top and corny but still good.

If you make this, I will buy it. It would be great.

I think there's a place for both, but I agree that I would love to see a serious version of this type of story.
