Yeah, I only recently discovered Naschy in Night of the Werewolf and Werewolf vs. the Vampire Women. I need to look some more up!

Heeeheeee! I haven't seen that one since I was a kid; but I suspect I'd still think it cool. Aliens, monsters.... throw in a giant robot and Luchadore and it'd be the perfect film.

I wrote a piece on my childhood obsession with this film a while back:

I'm on that bus! I grew up with cheesy 1950's Horror Flicks.

I remember when the 1960 Horror Film, 13 Ghosts was considered scary!

This past Saturday I was watching The Crawling Eye.
"Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."

Most stuff is cheesy to me these days. When I was in my late teens and early 20s, I went along with the whole trendy "Fulci is God" stuff. But looking at his films today, I think he was a total hack (for the most part).

The atmosphere in his most popular films is GREAT and the FX in a movie like Zombie I think is far superior to the stuff Savini did for Dawn of the Dead.

But the plots were absurd, poorly written. The gore is all for it's own sake and once Fulci stopped working with that crew he used on those films, he work became total boring crap.

But hey, some crap can be appealing and I guess I am a hypocrite because I LOVE a movie like Satan's Black Wedding and other trash.

Off the top of my head 1st is Frankensteins Daughter, 50's or so, and Night of the Demons, late 80s or so on that one too. Though Demons had pretty good special effects.

Did anyone ever pick up 'House of the Wolfman' that came out in 2010? I've heard various opinions on it. If it's been covered in this thread, forgive me. I didn't get a chance to read through it.

I bought it and was so excited by it that i watched it after supper (instead of waiting until the kids were down) Trouble was, I was also fighting a cold and passed out in the middle so I can't give a full review, my intial thoughts:

Ron Chaney did not get any acting ability from his grandfather
Cheryl Rodes is stunning and looks like she stepped out of the 1940s.
The monster battle is really well done but it's long overdue.

In the end, it's a fun movie but it doesn't feel like a Universal Monster ralley to me, those aren't classics either but they were paced better.
