Finally finished watching this season.
I was really upset when Rita bought it last season, but it turned out to be a really good character arc for Dexter. Julia Stiles is absolutely terrific, and even though the entire situation didn't blow up in Dexter's face once again, there was such a dramatic irony to him helping her complete her revenge.
My only complaint was that Deb walked away in the finale a little too easy. But I guess the success of the series continuing rests on prolonging the eventual Deb vs Dexter scenario. Oddly enough, the books have long ago skirted that issue, but then again Dexter is showing way more signs of emotionality than the prose Dexter ever will.
Johnny Lee Miller's bad guy was pretty effective psychologically and ultimately toothless as was Quinn and Robocop. I was actually hoping Peter Weller would be as strong an antagonist as Doakes was in the first couple of seasons.
On the one hand, it felt like there was a bit too much going on this season, but then again the Batista marriage stuff and Deb/Quinn seemed like endless filler to keep the actors busy.
